Privacy Policy

 

Who we are

 

This website is operated by New Path Couples Therapy, Inc., publicly known as New Path Family — a California nonprofit public benefit corporation and a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. EIN 87-0816107.

We are a publisher of free educational material. We do not provide therapy, we do not employ clinicians, and we do not keep medical records.

 

What we collect

 

We collect very little, and only what we need.

 

If you subscribe to our newsletter: your email address, and your name if you give it.

 

If you use our contact form: everything you enter. That may include what you are looking for help with, where you live, and how to reach you, and some of it may relate to your health. The form also records how you found us — the page you were on, and whether you arrived from one of our ads or a link — so we know which resources lead people to get in touch. What you send is stored by our sister organization — see The contact form and our sister organization, below.

 

If you make a donation: your name, email and billing details, handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.

 

Automatically, when you visit: the pages you look at, roughly where in the world you are (to about the nearest city, worked out from your internet address), what kind of device and browser you use, and which site or ad brought you here. Because this site is about neurodivergence, the pages someone reads can say something about their interests. We only ever look at this as totals — how many people read each page — never person by person. None of it tells us your name.

 

Cookies and similar technology

 

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses three kinds.

 

Essential cookies from the platform the site runs on. They keep the site working and secure.

 

Analytics cookies from Google Analytics. They let us count visits properly, so three pages read in one visit count as one visit, and someone coming back counts as a returning visitor, not a new one.

 

Ad measurement cookies from Google Ads. They only matter if you arrive by clicking one of our ads. They let Google tell us whether the ad led somewhere useful, for example someone starting a screener, going on to the next module of a course, or clicking to contact us. Google reports this to us as totals. It does not tell us who you are, and we never send Google anything you type into a form.

 

We do not show a cookie banner. If you would rather not have analytics or ad measurement cookies, you can:

 

Block or clear cookies in your browser’s settings. The site still works without them.

 

Install Google’s opt-out for Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

 

Manage how Google uses information for ads at myadcenter.google.com.

 

What we do with it

 

Send you the newsletter, if you asked for it.

 

Answer you when you contact us.

 

Understand which free resources people use, so we can make better ones.

 

Check that the free advertising we receive through Google’s nonprofit Ad Grants program brings people to resources that help them, so the grant is well spent.

 

Meet our legal and reporting obligations as a charity.

Who else sees it

 

We use a small number of outside companies to run this website. They fall into these categories:

 

Website hosting and email — the platform this site runs on and the systems we use to write to you.

 

Analytics and ad measurement — Google Analytics and Google Ads, both run by Google LLC.

 

Contact and enquiry records — our contact form, and the records system that stores what you send, are run for us by our sister organization (see below).

 

Payment processing — for donations, once donations are live.

 

Our hosting, email and payment providers handle your information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Google is the one to know about: it handles analytics and ad measurement data under its own terms as well as ours. Google explains how at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

 

We change providers from time to time. If you want to know exactly which companies we use today, email us and we will tell you.

 

The contact form and our sister organization

 

Our contact form is run for us by New Path Family of Therapy Centers, Inc., a separate California professional corporation under common leadership with this nonprofit. Its services are paid. Everything you send through the form is stored in its records system, whether or not you are asking for care.

 

If you tell us you are looking for therapy, an assessment or coaching, someone there will use what you sent to respond to you. We say so on the form before you continue.

 

This nonprofit receives no payment for referrals.

 

Once you are in touch with them about care, your information is handled under their privacy terms, not ours. They will use it to respond to you and, if you go on to become a client, to open a clinical record. Ask them directly if you want the detail.

 

If you never use the contact form, nothing you tell us reaches them. The form itself loads from their website, so when you open our contact page their server sees the ordinary technical details any website sees, such as your internet address.

 

We do not pass your information to anyone else, for any reason, other than where the law requires it.

 

Screeners and links to our sister organization

 

Many of the screeners in our courses open on websites run by New Path Family of Therapy Centers, Inc., such as adult-autism-assessment.com. When you follow one of those links you leave this site. What you enter there is covered by that site’s privacy policy, not this one. On our side, we record only that the link was clicked.

 

What we never do

 

We never sell your information, and we never rent or trade it.

 

We do not advertise to you based on anything you tell us about your health.

 

We do not use “retargeting”: we never ask Google to show you our ads elsewhere because you visited this site.

 

We never send Google, or any advertiser, anything you type into a form on this site.

 

We do not require an account, a login or an email address to use anything we publish.

 

How long we keep it

 

We do not delete on a fixed schedule, so rather than give you a number that would not be true, here is how we decide. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form submissions are kept in our sister organization’s records system for as long as they might still be useful to the person who sent them — if you write to us again, we would rather know what you already told us than make you repeat it.

 

Google Analytics keeps visit-level detail for two months, and anything linked to a returning browser for up to 14 months. After that, only totals remain.

 

You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will, unless we are required to keep it by law.

 

Your choices

 

Unsubscribe from any newsletter using the link at the bottom of it.

 

Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.

 

Ask us to delete it, and we will.

 

Block or clear cookies in your browser, or use Google’s opt-outs listed under Cookies and similar technology. Most of the site works fine without cookies.

 

Email info@newpathfamily.com for any of these. California residents have specific rights under state privacy law, and we will honor them regardless of whether we are technically required to.

 

Children

 

Our resources are written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

 

This is not a medical record

 

This organization is not a healthcare provider and is not a HIPAA covered entity. Reading or using anything on this site does not create a medical record.

 

If you become a client of New Path Family of Therapy Centers, that is a separate relationship with its own privacy terms, and your clinical records are kept by them, not by us.

 

Security

 

We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to protect your information. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. Please do not send us anything highly sensitive through a web form.

 

Changes to this privacy policy

 

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.

 

September 2026: we stopped showing a cookie banner, added the section on cookies and the names of the analytics and ad measurement tools we use, and explained that our contact form is run by our sister organization.

What this site is

 

Everything here is educational. It is written to help you understand yourself or someone you love. It is not medical advice, it is not psychotherapy, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional who knows your situation.

 

Using this site does not make you our client

 

Reading, downloading or completing anything here does not create a therapeutic, clinical or professional relationship between you and this organization, or between you and any clinician.

 

If you are in crisis

 

We are not a crisis service and we cannot respond to emergencies. If you or someone you love is in danger, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741, or call 911.

 

Using our materials

 

Everything we publish is free for you to use for yourself, and free to share with someone you care about. Print a worksheet, work through a course — that is what it is for.

 

If you are a clinician, school or organization and you would like to use our materials with the people you serve, or host them on your own site, please get in touch. We are glad to say yes, and we would like to know where our work is going.

 

Beyond personal use and sharing, our content, name, logo and brand marks remain our property.

 

What we ask of you

 

Do not republish our materials as your own, or alter them and keep our name on them.

 

Do not use this site to harass anyone or to break the law.

 

Do not attempt to disrupt the site or access parts of it you are not meant to.

 

Links to other places

 

Where we link elsewhere, we do so because we think it may help. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for them.

 

No warranty

 

We publish this material in good faith and we work hard to get it right, but we provide it as-is, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise it will be accurate, complete or right for your situation.

 

Limitation of liability

 

To the fullest extent the law allows, New Path Couples Therapy, Inc. and the people who work with it are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of this site or reliance on anything published here. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
